Benefits of Microneedling

As we already mentioned, Microneedling promotes and accelerates the skin’s natural skin regeneration and rejuvenation process. This cosmetic procedure instructs the skin to produce Collagen, Elastin and causes Skin Cell Division. This leads to a firmer, toned and more elastic skin.

Once Microneedling has been performed, the Collagen that has become lazy since the age of 27, is instructed to start working again. The first stages of skin renewal will start showing within 2 – 4 weeks. The skin takes up to 4 weeks to recover and Collagen starts working again after 4 weeks. Microneedling’s full effect will be visible after about 12 weeks, after which the skin will continue to improve. By persistently triggering this healing process, you encourage your body to keep repairing.

On this note, I think it is very important to say: Microneedling is not surgery, and it is not instant either. It is a graduate healing process. It is a process of training the skin to heal from the inside-out. It takes the body between 20 and 40 days to create new cells, therefore one can understand that it takes some time to improve the skin. It is important to remember that wrinkles, lines and pigmentation didn’t form overnight. It developed over many years. Therefore, it will take some time for your skin to start to heal, but at least we are not talking many months and years here. Maybe 3 to 4 months to see a marked improvement and results. It is especially important that your clients understand this and that you manage their expectations.

Another thing that is important to understand and communicate to your clients is, that one can’t expect to have beautiful, healthy-looking skin from micro-needling treatments, but you don’t support your skin with a healthy lifestyle, diet, and skin regime. These factors all play a significant role in having healthy and beautiful skin. To attain and maintain healthy skin, doing the basics is extremely important:

This includes washing your face and removing your make up every night; Putting on a good SPF30+ underneath your concealer and foundation every day; Eating a balanced healthy diet; Taking a Collagen supplement as this helps to combat the natural aging process; Investing in a good serum like a Vitamin C & Hylauronic Acid serum or Stem Cell serum.

Vitamin C contains anti-aging properties and is a powerful antioxidant that promotes the synthesis of Collagen and Elastin and protects the skin against UV rays. Hyaluronic Acid hydrates the skin and keeps it plump and firm, as well as promotes the production of Collagen and Elastin. A Stem Cell serum stimulates the skin’s natural healing process and encourages the growth of new Collagen and Elastin. It provides revolutionary anti-aging performance, combats chronological aging, activates the skin’s natural detoxification system, protects the skin from free radicals, improves the appearances of aged and stressed skin, AND skin redness and inflammation.

So, let’s summarise the benefits of Microneedling:

– Encourages collagen and elastin production;

– Improves anti-aging, like fine lines, wrinkles and crows’ feet around the eyes;

– Improves dark spots and hyperpigmentation;

– Improves skin tone and texture;

– Minimizes pore size;

– Improves stretch marks, acne and surgical and chickenpox scarring;

– Improves sagging skin;

– AND, improves dry and dull-looking skin.
